 What would you propose to resolve the name conflict with the existing
 "vapor" port in the science category?  Port names must be unique.  That
 older port is still viable.  Are there prior naming examples in other
 repos?  Try repology.org.

 Previous MacPorts attempts were mentioned on the swift forum.  Can you
 find some of those previous attempts?  This could save some trouble if
 they already have draft Portfiles, or found partial solutions, or
 discussed problems encountered.
