 Folks,

 The python 1.0 port group relies in several places on a numeric comparison
 between the current selected version and some milestone, eg:

 {{{
 ${python.version} >= 37
 }}}
  for pep517

 But this fails with the new freethreading python 3.15 because it is
 installed as python315t, so ${python.version} is "315t" and the comparison
 reverts to lexicographic order when one member is not an integer, and
 lexicographically, "315t" < "37"

 The simple fix would be to add a function to extract the numerical
 composant by trimming the final t and proceed with the comparisons using
 the return value of this function.
