 Well, I do not have gcc15, I skipped it for unrelated reasons. I can try
 gcc14 just to see if the issue only happens with gcc16.

 The port I use is here: https://github.com/macos-powerpc/powerpc-
 ports/blob/main/lang/gcc16/Portfile
 But it does not carry any relevant hacks of my own. It uses Iain’s patch,
 as usual, plus some improvements based on Iain’s work.

 I do not make any general claims here, I am merely reporting an error I
 faced. This is not a port I tried to hack in any manner, I was going to
 build it as is, from upstream MacPorts port.
