Comment:
The portion of the log you posted in the ticket description shows the
problem is with the documentation tar archive. Although you didn't share
the entire log of that run or mention your OS version, your log shows
you're on 10.13, and we have [attachment:log.txt a log from the 10.14
buildbot] that shows the same problem, and shows the source archive was
not affected by this problem.
[attachment:main.log.gz The log you did attach] is from a different run in
which you overrode the tar extraction command with one that won't work.
The port has already been
[changeset:f1e02a5af3c800d87aa97e6e8c4adffbb0cebf09/macports-ports updated
to 5.9.2] which doesn't seem to have this problem.
I'm not certain whether the developers realize they had this problem with
5.9.1. They seem to use [https://www.zsh.org/mla/workers/2026/index.html a
mailing list] rather than an issue tracker for bug reporting, and I don't
see a bug about this reported there after a brief skimming of post titles.
The [https://zsh.sourceforge.io/releases.html 5.9.2 release notes] say
only that it contains "Only minor changes."
If this kind of problem occurs with any port in the future, please report
the bug to the developers so that they can fix it by releasing a new
version whose tar archive was produced in such a way that it does not
preserve extended attributes (which are problematic to older systems).
