 I'm working on an open-source project called freeciv -

 https://github.com/freeciv/freeciv

 One of the build outputs is an app called freeciv-gtk4, which uses the
 gtk4 package (+quartz). The app has a bug that the menubar is unresponsive
 when the app first comes up, clicking on a menu does nothing. The menu
 item accel keys still work. The same freeciv app code does not have this
 bug on windows or *nix, so I think it must be in the Mac gtk4.

 It is possible it's not a bug in the MacPorts gtk4 package but in the Mac
 gtk4 itself. I have heard a report of possibly similar problems (with the
 same freeciv-gtk4 app) with Homebrew's version of the gtk4 package.
