 Running `port notes macfuse` says this:

   /Library/Filesystems/macfuse.fs

   Alternatively, use the +fs_link variant to automatically create this
 symlink.

 Importantly, `$prefix` is expanded to `/opt/local`. If you didn't have a
 `prefix` variable set in your shell when you ran
 {{{
 sudo ln -fsn ${prefix}/Library/Filesystems/macfuse.fs
 /Library/Filesystems/macfuse.fs
 }}}
 then `${prefix}` evaluates to an empty string, making the command
 effectively this:
 {{{
 sudo ln -fsn /Library/Filesystems/macfuse.fs
 /Library/Filesystems/macfuse.fs
 }}}
 which is of course incorrect and results in the problem you see.
