 I agree. On my macOS 12 x86_64 system, with mpv @0.41.0 built from source
 with ffmpeg8 @8.0:

 (I was hoping for more info from the crash log, but I didn't find a crash
 log in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports.)

 After rebuilding mpv @0.41.0 from source with ffmpeg8 @8.1:

 This suggests that even though ffmpeg 8.0 and 8.1 (we
 [changeset:f40c23636040dc789f959b5ac4781762edff9f20/macports-ports updated
 the ffmpeg8 port to this version two days ago]) both profess to have the
 same library versions^†^ they are not compatible, so we may need to
 increase the `revision` of all ports linking with ffmpeg8 to rebuild them
 all. We might want to test some other ports that link with ffmpeg8 before
 concluding that it also affects other ports.
