#73967: mariadb-10.11-server should launch mysqld/mariadbd with --ssl
-----------------------+----------------------------------
 Reporter:  ballapete  |      Owner:  (none)
     Type:  defect     |     Status:  new
 Priority:  Normal     |  Milestone:
Component:  ports      |    Version:  2.12.5
 Keywords:             |       Port:  mariadb-10.11-server
-----------------------+----------------------------------
 `defaults read
 /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.mariadb-10.11-server.plist` tells:
 {{{
 {
     Disabled = 0;
     ExitTimeOut = 600;
     GroupName = "_mysql";
     KeepAlive = 1;
     Label = "org.macports.mariadb-10.11-server";
     LaunchOnlyOnce = 0;
     ProcessType = Interactive;
     ProgramArguments =     (
         "/opt/local/lib/mariadb-10.11/bin/mysqld"
     );
     RunAtLoad = 1;
     SessionCreate = 1;
     UserName = "_mysql";
 }
 }}}

 `/opt/local/lib/mariadb-10.11/bin/mysqld --verbose --help` tells (very
 small excerpt):
 {{{
  --ssl Enable SSL for connection (automatically enabled if
 an ssl option is used).
 }}}

 Result of this inadequate launch can be failure when trying to test `p5.34
 -dbd-mysql` with `MariaDB`:
 {{{
 --->  Testing p5.34-dbd-mysql
 Executing:  cd "/opt/local/var/macports/build/p5.34-dbd-mysql-
 4653e422/work/DBD-mysql-4.055" && /usr/bin/make test
 "/opt/local/bin/perl5.34" -MExtUtils::Command::MM -e 'cp_nonempty' --
 mysql.bs blib/arch/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.bs 644
 PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 "/opt/local/bin/perl5.34" "-MExtUtils::Command::MM"
 "-MTest::Harness" "-e" "undef *Test::Harness::Switches; test_harness(0,
 'blib/lib', 'blib/arch')" t/*.t
 # Driver version is 4.055
 t/00base.t .............................. ok
 # DBI connect(';mysql_ssl=1;mysql_get_server_pubkey=1','root',...) failed:
 TLS/SSL error: SSL is required, but the server does not support it at
 t/01caching_sha2_prime.t line 21.
 t/01caching_sha2_prime.t ................ skipped: no database connection
 # DBI connect('','root',...) failed: Access denied for user
 'root'@'localhost' at t/05dbcreate.t line 16.

 # DBI connect('test','root',...) failed: Access denied for user
 'root'@'localhost' at t/10connect.t line 14.
 t/10connect.t ........................... skipped: no database connection
 t/15reconnect.t ......................... skipped: no database connection
 }}}

 `otool` tells:
 {{{
 root 768 /\ otool -L /opt/local/lib/mariadb-10.11/bin/mysqld
 /opt/local/lib/mariadb-10.11/bin/mysqld:
 /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/CoreServices
 (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 1226.0.0)
         /opt/local/lib/libpcre2-8.0.dylib (compatibility version 16.0.0,
 current version 16.0.0)
         /opt/local/lib/libwrap.7.dylib (compatibility version 7.0.0,
 current version 7.6.0)
         /opt/local/lib/libz.1.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current
 version 1.3.2)
         /opt/local/libexec/openssl3/lib/libssl.3.dylib (compatibility
 version 3.0.0, current version 3.0.0)
         /opt/local/libexec/openssl3/lib/libcrypto.3.dylib (compatibility
 version 3.0.0, current version 3.0.0)
         /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current
 version 1345.120.2)
         /usr/lib/libc++.1.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current
 version 1700.255.5)
 }}}

 So `SSL support` does exist in the executable. It just needs to be
 enabled…

 (BTW, the driver version 4.053 does not build here on Sonoma 14.8.5 with
 Apple's Clang 16.)
