 right, so my guess was correct:

 info:configure WARNING: QtWebEngine won't be built. The following
 configure errors were found:
 526     :info:configure  * Build requires Metal Toolchain to be installed
 via 'xcodebuild -downloadComponent MetalToolchain'
 }}}

 take care of that issue and it will work; see
 [wiki:TahoeProblems#MetaltoolchainisnolongerbundledinXcode]
