 I vaguely remember this happening before.

 From the error it seems that configure is picking up the previous (active)
 version of gmic.

 See if deactivating gmic, i.e. {{{sudo post deactivate gmic}}}, followed
 by {{{sudo port clean gmic-qt}}} and finally {{{sudo port upgrade gmic-
 qt}}} installs the new version.

 You could also first upgrade {{{gmic}}} before upgrading {{{gmic-qt}}}. I
 always do it in that order.
