 JAVA_HOME=`/usr/libexec/java_home`}}} (whatever that meant).

 That meant that the `JAVA_HOME` environment variable was set to whatever
 version is output by the command `/usr/libexec/java_home`, which will be
 the path to the newest Java feature version on your system.

 Another use of that command is to set `JAVA_HOME` to the path of a Java
 feature version using its `-v` flag, e.g. `/usr/libexec/java_home -v 21`
 will print the path to a Java 21 installation (if present, otherwise
 you'll get the newest Java version on your system). If you have multiple
 installations for that Java feature version, the command will return one
 of them.

 But it's also fine to set it to a specific directory.

 > Nevertheless TV Browser calls Java 12 (also on board).

 I am not familiar with TV Browser or how it selects a Java version, so you
 may need to check its documentation or reach out to its user community or
 developers.
