 Some Portfiles are set up to retrieve the sources of a software to build
 from a GIT server (GNU Emacs, Xserver, …). Most of these servers are set
 up sanely, i.e. they accept old ciphers and protocols. Some are not, for
 example google's one for aom. Here I have to setup Portfile to fetch the
 archive – from outside google?

 It would make some sense to configure the base system `--with-
 git=/opt/local/bin/git` on some old Macs to "keep pace" with such
 extremists.

 Or to upgrade port to accept a setting in Portfile that leads it to the
 useful git version.

 Or to write a Portfile that works on all (yet) supported Mac OS X
 versions…
