That looks very odd. There shouldn't be any dependent relationship  
between ruby and tk. On your system, run 'port deps ruby' and send  
the list its output. Here's mind for reference:

cremes$ port deps ruby
ruby has library dependencies on:
         libiconv
         readline
         openssl
         zlib
