selfupdate from 1.211 to 1.320 still fails

It's on a Macbook bought around 3 months ago.
Selfupdate started to fail around 6 weeks ago.
I've been tracking the old opendarwin bugzilla and it was said to be fixed 
with 1.320, but it still fails on my machine

Several errors like the following when I do a "sudo port  -d selfupdate":
