opendarwin distfiles

Dear list,

I ran into a problem while trying to install libsdl_gfx: its portfile
mentions opendarwin:lt as a master_site, but cannot fetch from this
place. It had to fetch http://distfiles-od.opendarwin.org/ltconfig13 and
ltmain13. 

One: How do those master_sites work? Here, it said 
Error: No defined site for tag: lt, using master_sites

Obviously, since those sites are quite slow, it is painful to wait for 9
bad places before finding the good one. And especially, twice in
libsdl_gfx...

Two: does the transition to macports/macosforge include switching
distfiles? Will the opendarwin keyword disappear from all portfiles or
become an alias to the new site? Hence will all users have to selfupdate
port or will a sync be enough?
