Problems installing Python 2.5.1 on PowerMac G4

What version of Xcode do you have installed?  When this has come up  
in the past, it was due to an older Xcode (2.1 and/or 2.2.x); so make  
sure you're running at least 2.4 (I believe) or the latest, 2.5.
