I would expect that to be fine. (And if it's not, we need to fix
MacPorts so that it's fine.)
What does the config.log say? It'll be in the directory /opt/local/
var/macports/build/
_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_textpro
c_expat/work/expat-2.0.1
