mysterious gtk-doc install

Hello all,

Thanks for the help.

It turns out to be a two part problem.

First part: user error.  I updated all ports instead
of the outdated ports when I ran "sudo port upgrade
installed".

I have gtk2 installed which triggered part two of the
problem, which is described below.
