I had a similar problem earlier on with gtk 2.10.2 on OS 10.4 (a newer
gtk version then fixed it for me).
I've posted a patch at
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gtk-list/2006-August/msg00275.html
which basically prevents the cups print backend from building. Be
aware that you might have to port it to your gtk version, but I think
it should apply straigthly.
I've reattached the diff here for your convenience.
