VNC problems

Hi,
I am having problems with both vnc and tightvnc ports on a MacPro(i.e.,
Intel) running 10.4.8. vnc builds and installs fine, but when the
vncserver is launched, the texts in the xterm are mangled, and crashes in
a short while.

tightvnc doesn't even build. I get the following error messages. Does
anyone have a fix?

gcc -c -O2 -ansi -Dasm=__asm -I. -I../mi -I../include
