port PATH handling

yes.

That won't work.

macports' PATH is set to "${prefix}/bin:${prefix}/sbin:/bin:/sbin:/ 
usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/X11R6/bin" unless 'binpath' is set in the  
ports.conf file.

(see darwinports1.0/darwinports.tcl line 415 and darwinports1.0/ 
portconf.c line 49)
