My MacPorts svn uses the Keychain.

Also, my MacPorts svn doesn't use BDB. I used

$ sudo port install apr-util +no_bdb
$ sudo port install subversion +no_bdb

to avoid building BerkeleyDB.

Actually I'm using +universal for subversion and all its
dependencies, and had occasion to try it out today (running the
binaries that I made on my Intel Mac from a PowerPC Mac) and it
worked great. Woo-hoo!

I'm no longer committing to the https repo URL but to the http URL
which has worked much better for me in that it's faster and I no
longer get those annoying SSL errors.
