Launchd not starting lighttpd

First thing I would do is check the console. Messages from the
launchd system usually get sent to system.log. If there's no mention
there, then you'll have to refer to someone more knowledgeable about
start-stop-daemon; I don't make use of it myself.
You could also confirm that the "Start" command in /opt/local/etc/
LaunchDaemons/org.macports.lighttpd/lighttpd.wrapper is `/opt/local/
sbin/lighttpd -f /opt/local/etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf` as you
executed to test. I can't imagine it wouldn't, though.
