problem solved.

you can either wait until the update comes through, or get the new  
portfile manually:

   cd &&
   curl -gsO http://svn.macports.org/repository/macports/trunk/dports/ 
sysutils/screen/Portfile &&
   sudo mv Portfile `port file screen`
