Install gtk2 fails

I'm in a similar situation and in the process of getting gnucash to 
install. Are you sure your gtk2 error is not about "cups/cups.h"? 
Because that was the case here, and installing the cups-headers port 
solved the issue (it doesn't seem to be reported in gtk2's deps though?).
