glib2 install error

I'm new to Macports and tried to install gimp. It failed allready at  
glib2 installation due to error involving libiconv. Machine is iMac  
G5,  OSX 10.4.10, Xcode 2.4.1, macports updated and libiconv @1.11_6 
+darwin_8.
