upgrading patchlevel

I agree that the current ruby port is behind the latest one, but  
where does the 5000 patchlevel come from?  The official download link  
[1] lists the latest stable tarball as ruby-1.8.6-p110.tar.gz, which  
I assume means patchlevel 110.  There certainly doesn't appear to be  
5000 patches in the 1_8_6 branch in their SVN repository.
