was there any way to make Psycopg2 compile against python2.5 instead of 2.4?

I ask because its' bad enough that I'll have 2 versions of 2.5 but to have
24 taking up space also is kind of annoying. plus I have a feeling that the
program that is using this postgres adaptor is mostly written in 2.5  should
I go directly to the package maintainer about this?
