Issues Upgrading Outdated Under 1.700

Well, I've had success.  It seems that once I got the other port
instance killed off, a few of the ports that were involved in the
previous upgrade effort had gotten corrupted and needed to be cleaned.
 I went through each of those and cleaned them and instaleld them
again and, voila!, it works.
