Tripwire not installing

It installs fine for me on Leopard.  Do you have a /usr/sbin/sendmail? 
That's where tripwire seems to look.

"checking for sendmail... /usr/sbin/sendmail"

Also, when you say you have postfix, do you mean you have MacPort's
Postfix port installed?
