How to Get Mac Apps on the Mac OS X Dock?

If you do
sudo port install gimp
you get the metaport installed and therefore, as you say Gimp.App is  
also installed in /Applications/Macports.

To install directly (no metaport and so no Gimp.App) you must do
sudo install gimp2.

Since he talked about the gimp port and not the gimp2 port it appeared  
he had done the former not the later.  ;)
