error when installing rsync fetch failed

hi
I've tried this several times
www.macports was up and running at this time

$ sudo port install rsync
--->  Fetching rsync
--->  Attempting to fetch rsync-3.0.2.tar.gz from 
http://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/
--->  Attempting to fetch rsync-3.0.2.tar.gz from

Error: Target org.macports.fetch returned: fetch failed
Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.


As suggested on another post I succeded by downloading the package manually:

sudo env MASTER_SITE_LOCAL=http://distfiles.macports.org/rsync port -v
MacPorts 1.600
Entering interactive mode... ("help" for help, "quit" to quit)
[mac/dumbledore] > fetch rsync
...
 > install rsync
