After install - Unable to so "sudo port" anything

You need to add this to your ~/.profile file:

# Setting the path for MacPorts.
export PATH=/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:$PATH

Due to a bug the installer doesnt do this for ver 1.6. Dont know why  
it hasnt been fixed.
