gnuplot not plotting

Hi everyone,

I installed gnuplot the other day and then I tried to plot something  
and it didn't work. Then I figured that the installed gnuplot starts  
without any terminal:

Terminal type set to 'unknown'

so if I choose a different terminal, like "set terminal x11" then it  
plots fine. Is this because of a bug in the installation??? It's  
probably nothing but I wanted to let you know about this problem.
