MacPorts does not upgrade dependencies before installing something  
(that's a long standing bug).
ncurses terminfo database come from ncursesw, so you need to upgrade  
ncursesw first (their versions need to be the same).

sudo port upgrade ncursesw
sudo port install ncurses
