If I had to guess, I'd suspect your perl port, which I'd suggest you rebuild it. You said you're using perl 5.10, so rebuild the perl5.10 port:

The output shows that p5-locale-gettext is building universal, but
perl5* does not have a universal variant and therefore neither do perl
module ports.
