Upgrading vim

I've got several reports for this now, but was still unable to reproduce
it or track it down further than that it happens It works fine for me on
Mac OS X 10.5.6 with Xcode 3.1.2 and Xquartz 2.3.2.1.

Which versions of Xcode and Xquartz do you use?
