mutt-devel +trash patch

Hi,

I like to use the trash option within mutt but i read here [1] that it's no longer included in the port.

Is there a simple process i can follow to include in my mutt installation (i'm not very good at writing my own code/scripts yet) or, would the maintainer of the port consider putting it back in? 

I have thought about compiling the mutt source code myself but i prefer
to have my software installed via Macports where possible.
