Correct, the boost port does not appear to install any manual files. I don't know if the boost software provides them optionally (i.e. if the port could be modified to install them) or if there simply aren't any.

I have no idea what that does. Have you checked the boost documentation? I assume there must be some on the boost web site. They also seem to have a mailing list you could ask on.

If it's just a matter of knowing what the boost port installed and where, that information is obtained by running the command "port contents boost".
