Apache "upgrade outdated" overwrites index.html

I'm not certain if this is "another" re-post, I just noticed my earlier post on this subject bounced because I used the wrong account to post from.
After updating mac ports
(sudo port selfupdate)
I ran "sudo port upgrade outdated".
One of the first items updated was Apache2.
Everything went fine except....
The update overwrote "/opt/local/apache2/htdocs/index.html"
not nice.
Easily recovered from, but completely unexpected.
