imapsync couldn't find HMAC.pm or HMAC_MD5.pm

Below everything looks good to me. My guess is that you don't have / 
opt/local/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.9/ in your perl path. I don't use  
perl, only perl files others have written. I seem to remember a while  
back a few threads about perls env.
