I ran:

Jaspers-MacBook-Pro:~ jasper$ ps auxww | grep dbus

 after I checked ps using man ps and got the following data
jasper     307   0.0  0.0  2446752    712   ??  S    Sat04PM   0:00.01
/opt/local/bin/dbus-daemon --nofork --session
messagebus    51   0.0  0.0  2435368    692   ??  Ss   Sat04PM   0:00.00
/opt/local/bin/dbus-daemon --system --nofork
jasper    1962   0.0  0.0  2435032    464 s000  R+    7:58PM   0:00.00 grep
dbus

So dbus seems to be running as well as I can comprehend from this  all. Am I
right?
