Please know that the following remains an earnest question, and not one that aims to be difficult, since I can't discern how agreement is reached on the content of the MacPorts guide.

Would such patch generation precede agreement on what would be an acceptable change? As a result of which... would the patch submitter stand to be advised that they need to alter and resubmit their patch, or would the arbitrators accept, and modify the patch, to their satisfaction?
