Correct. Epoch has higher precedence than version. That is the whole purpose of the epoch variable.

pango was downgraded from 1.26.0 back to 1.24.5 ages ago because 1.26.0 had severe problems, as detailed in a ticket.

1.28.0 is available upstream now so I have been meaning to go back and see if those severe problems have by now been resolved; if so, I can update the port.
