Where is the .args file?

While upgrading git-core, I encountered the problem documented in Ticket
23717 <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/23717> where the path to Python is
incorrect.  The workaround described in that ticket is to add a line to the
.args file?  Where is the .args file?
