Will binaries built in 10.6 still run in 10.5?

..................ppc64 and ppc are two different architectures. If you request ppc there's no way you'll get ppc64 instead, or vice versa. gcc 4.2.1 builds all four Mac OS X architectures -- ppc, ppc64, i386, x86_64 -- just fine, as far as I know. If you have evidence to the contrary, please provide.
