Bind 9 not launching named...

In fact "named-checkzone" and "named-checkconf" are two of the reasons I finally bit the bullet and upgraded!

MY copy of Bind 8 has been running on my DEC Alpha under Tru64 Unix since about 1995, and had not been updated since Bind 9 was released.
(And Tru64 hasn't been "taken care of" since Dec was bought by Compaq and then by HP... but that's another story.)

This is all for my  personal domain and home network -- which except for the one Alphas is all Macs.
