Much more native. Björn Winckler &c have done a 
stirling job turning vi into a Mac OS X-friendly 
text editor whilst still allowing all the vi-isms 
to stand.

One small caution: make sure you get the right binary.

Winckler's port is available at 
<http://code.google.com/p/macvim/> and should not 
be confused with the no-longer-maintained 
Carbon-based port still available from macvim.org.
