@ Hararl I did a port search 'window manager' and found many indeed! When I
ran :
port search 'window manager' | grep gnome
I got:
metacity @2.30.3 (gnome, x11-wm)
while I thought Gnome is a Window Manager in itself. Then I Googled and
found http://xwinman.org/gnome.php saying it is not and that metacity is
used by Gnome. Learning new things every day here!
@ Jeremey I see. Well if I can use another in parallel just tot see how it
is that would be great. I already have Gnome Desktop installed via MacPorts
as I am already familiar with it. Here are the current ports:
port installed | grep gnome
gnome-common @2.26.0_0

py25-gnome @2.26.1_1
py25-gnome @2.28.1_0 (active)
py26-gnome @2.28.1_1 (active)
But I cannot get it started as an alternative Window Manager. I guess as it
is not really as I found out earlier. I guess I need to install metacity?
Will go through https://trac.macports.org/wiki/GNOME as soon as I have some
more time..
Thanks again!!
