Dear MacPorts folks,
I'm a new user of mac ports, and have been running into some
difficulties installing zim. Here's what is happening:
$ sudo port install zim
---> Computing dependencies for zim
---> Dependencies to be installed: p5-file-basedir
p5-file-desktopentry p5-file-mimeinfo p5-gtk2 p5-cairo
p5-extutils-depends p5-extutils-pkgconfig p5-glib p5-pango
p5-module-build p5-cpan-meta-yaml p5-extutils-cbuilder p5-ipc-cmd
p5-locale-maketext-simple p5-module-load-conditional
p5-module-corelist p5-module-load p5-params-check p5-version
p5-extutils-parsexs p5-module-metadata p5-perl-ostype p5-test-simple
p5-yaml
---> Configuring p5-file-basedir
Error: Target org.macports.configure returned: configure failure:
shell command failed (see log for details)
Error: Failed to install p5-file-basedir
Log for p5-file-basedir is at:
/opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_perl_p5-file-basedir/main.log
Error: The following dependencies were not installed:

p5-module-corelist p5-module-load p5-params-check p5-version
p5-extutils-parsexs p5-module-metadata p5-perl-ostype p5-test-simple
p5-yaml
Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.
To report a bug, see <http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets>
When I look at the log for the p5-file-basdir, this seems to be where
things are failing:
:info:configure shell command " cd
"/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_ports_perl_p5-file-basedir/work/File-BaseDir-0.03"
&& /opt/local/bin/perl Makefile.PL INSTALLDIRS=vendor " returned error 2
:error:configure Target org.macports.configure returned: configure
failure: shell command failed (see log for details)
But I could really use some expert advice here. I've installed a
couple of things successfully, but could it be possible I have somehow
misconfigured things?
Thanks in advance,
Derek
